Snowflurry - Questions/Discussion Topics for Families

  • What was the best thing about your day?
  • Discuss our theme “Snowflurry – Up Up And Away.”  What does this mean to you?  What are ways you want to go ‘Up Up and Away’ in your life?
  • Discuss our slogan “Think Smart, Think Positive, Think for Yourself, Think Flurry!”  What do you think positive thinking is?  How could you apply positive thinking in things you do?  Try as a parent to model positive thinking in your life.
  • In regard to our speaker’s presentation: What kind of messages did they hear?  How can we use these messages in our daily lives?
  • Chris Fascione’s presentation included lots of examples about setting goals, not giving up and good choices.
    • Tell me about your favorite part of his presentation?
    • What were some of the good choices he made that you can make too?
  • Tell me about your favorite skit from Snowscenes?  What did you like about it?  What did you learn from it?
  • What are some things you can say when someone offers you alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs?

There are other opportunities and programs for your child to be involved with others who are drug, alcohol and tobacco free. Encourage your child to get involved in some type of school activity.  It promotes confidence, friendship, and connections to positive adults.

Middle School:

  • D.A.R.E. Program
  • Junior Reach

High School:

  • Snowball (weekend retreat)
  • Reach
  • Star Raiders
Encourage your child to stay active and involved throughout school! With your commitment and understanding, your child will be able to come to you for help.
